What we collect and why

We only collect the information we need to answer your enquiry, carry out work on your vehicle and run our business.

When you send an enquiry through our website

We collect your name, email address, phone number, your message and any photos you send, so we can reply to you and give you a quote. We do this because we have a legitimate interest in responding to people who contact us.

When you email, phone or message us

We keep your contact details and anything you tell us, so we can answer your question or arrange work. Again, this is based on our legitimate interest in responding to you.

When we carry out work for you

We record your name, contact details, vehicle details (such as make, model and registration) and details of the work. We use these to book and carry out the work, contact you about it and deal with any queries afterwards. We need this information to carry out the work you've asked us to do (our contract with you).

When you pay us

We keep invoices and payment records, but we don't store your card details. We use them to take payment and keep our accounts, as tax and accounting law requires.

When you visit our website

If you accept analytics cookies, Google Analytics tells us how you use the site, such as the pages you visit, the type of device you use and your approximate location. We use this to understand how people use our website and improve it, and we only do this with your consent.

We don't sell your information, and we don't use it for marketing unless you've asked us to.

Who we share it with

We only share your information with companies that help us run the business, and only what they need. They are not allowed to use it for anything else.

  • Wix: hosts our website and receives messages sent through our enquiry form

  • Google: provides our business email and, if you accept analytics cookies, Google Analytics

  • Usercentrics: runs our cookie banner and records the cookie choices you make

  • Our accountant: for bookkeeping and tax

  • Our website support provider (Cavalry): may see enquiry form messages while maintaining the website

We may also share information if the law requires us to, for example with HMRC or the police.

Information sent outside the UK

Some of these providers store information outside the UK: Wix in Israel and elsewhere, and Google in the United States. Where this happens, the transfer is covered by UK adequacy regulations (including the UK-US Data Bridge) or by approved contract terms, so your information gets the same level of protection.

How long we keep it

We only keep your information for as long as we need it:

  • Enquiries that don't lead to work: 12 months

  • Customer and job records: 6 years after the work, as tax and accounting law requires

  • Website analytics: 2 months

After that, we delete it securely.

Your rights

You have the right to:

  • Ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you

  • Ask us to correct anything that's wrong or incomplete

  • Ask us to delete your information, unless we need to keep it (for example, for tax records)

  • Object to us using your information on the basis of legitimate interests

  • Ask us to limit how we use your information while a concern is looked into

  • Ask for your information in a format you can take to someone else

  • Withdraw your consent at any time, where we rely on it (such as analytics cookies)

To use any of these rights, email or phone us using the details at the top of this policy. It's free, and we'll reply within one month.

Making a complaint

If you're unhappy with how we've handled your information, please tell us first so we can put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint or on 0303 123 1113.

Cookies

Cookies are small files that websites save on your phone or computer. Some are needed for a website to work; others help the owner understand how the site is used.

When you first visit our website, a banner asks whether you're happy for us to use non-essential cookies. We only set them if you say yes, and you can change your mind at any time using the privacy settings button (the small fingerprint icon) in the bottom corner of every page.

We use two types of cookies:

  • Essential cookies: set by Wix, which runs our website, to keep it secure and working properly (for example, protecting forms from spam and reporting technical errors so they can be fixed), and by Usercentrics, which runs our cookie banner, to remember your cookie choice. The website can't work without them, so we don't need your consent for these.

  • Analytics cookies: Google Analytics cookies (named _ga and _ga_ followed by an ID) count visits and show which pages are used, so we can improve the site. They last up to 2 years, and we only set them if you say yes.

You can find the full list of essential cookies Wix uses on Wix's cookie page.

Controlling cookies

As well as using our cookie banner, you can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. If you block essential cookies, parts of the website may not work properly. You can also stop Google Analytics on all websites using Google's opt-out tool.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time, for example if we start using a new service. The latest version will always be on this page.
